NBA Rumors: Rockets GM says GM's gets trade ideas from message boards

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is one of the most intriguing front office executives in the NBA, namely because he’s extremely open and enjoys interacting with fans.

You can often find Morey at Rockets home games spending time with fans and holding Q&A sessions on social media websites like Reddit. He’s also on Twitter quite often where Morey admits that general managers will look on message boards and other mediums to get trade or transaction ideas.

We do RT @jamesasteven: @dmorey Do nba GMs (to your knowledge) ever gain trade/transaction ideas from online message boards/fans?

It really shouldn’t be all that shocking in the age of digital media, but it’s still interesting to have a general manager confirm such as it’s generally a rather reserved club.

Of course, Morey doesn’t say that he (or other GM’s) actually use the ideas, but there’s really no harm in looking considering the mass of minds might actually come up with a reasonable trade suggestion.
