The Golden State Warriors have had an impressive season, but despite that, they’re currently sitting as the Western Conference’s sixth seed and are only two games from being out of the playoff picture all together.
Needless to say, the last thing the team needs is a distraction as we ready ourselves for the final month of the NBA’s regular season, but that’s exactly what they’re going to get after assistant coach Brian Scalabrine was forcibly reassigned by head coach Mark Jackson.
Ownership and management have been strong advocates of Scalabrine and his performance on the job, sources told Yahoo Sports. Nevertheless, Warriors officials decided that as long as Jackson is the head coach, he’ll have control of his coaching staff.
The reasoning behind the extremely strange move is currently unknown, though whatever happened between Scalabrine and Jackson certainly isn’t good given the action.
Shockingly enough, this isn’t the first time Jackson and an assistant coach have had issues as just last year, Michael Malone, now the Sacramento Kings head coach, went weeks not speaking to Jackson over a riff.
