Redditors use Dogecoins to help sponsorless NASCAR driver

In a stunt that will finally solidify meme-based cryptocurrencies as legitimate, the folks at r/dogecoin — that’s the subreddit dedicated to Dogecoins, in case you aren’t up on what the cool kids are doing these days — have raised over $50,000 to help sponsorless NASCAR driver Josh Wise.

Much helpful. Very generosity. Such crowd-funded. (Am I doing that right?)

If you want to contribute to the worthy — and, let’s be honest, hilarious — cause, it’s not too late. There is currently a contest being held to see who can design the best Doge-themed car wrap. Some of the already-submitted ideas have been superb, so you’ll really have your work cut out for you if you want your design to win. (I suppose that makes you a bit of an underdoge. Sorry. Couldn’t resist.)

If you want to know more about Wise, his sponsor situation, and all things Doge, the No. 98 driver will be hosting an AMA on Wednesday.
