Andrew Shaw Scores Amazing Backhanded Goal from His Knees (Video)

The Chicago Blackhawks knew that they had to rebound after being shut out by Shea Weber and the Nashville Predators on Sunday night. Fortunately for them, this is exactly what they did when they took on Ryan Garbutt and the Dallas Stars. Ultimately, the Blackhawks would down the Stars 4-2. There was one goal that night which is destined to remain in everyone’s mind; the goal scored by Blackhawks center Andrew Shaw on the power play late in the first period.

The Blackhawks found themselves a man up after Dallas Stars center Cody Eakin found himself in the penalty box for goaltender interference on Hawks goaltender Corey Crawford.

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews passes the puck to left wing Patrick Sharp who fires on the net. The rebound springs free from Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen. Just when you think the game is going to remain scoreless going into the second, Shaw puts one between the pipes.

While on his knees, and facing away from the goal mind you, he is able to get ahold of the rebound, swing it around his right side, and the puck flies past the stick side of Lehtonen.

Take a look for yourself.

That was the 19th goal from the 22 year old center this season. So far, Shaw has 19 goals and 17 assists for a total of 36 points to accompany his plus-14 rating.
