There are going to be a few hundred people at Johnny Manziel‘s pro day tomorrow as NFL scouts, coaches and executives evaluate the former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback and the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, of those in attendance will be President George H.W. Bush who spent some time with Manziel on Wednesday night.
Manziel shared this photo with President Bush with his wife Barbara and his mother and father to his Instagram page on Wednesday.
The caption read: “Incredible. Thank you Mr. President for giving my family and I the opportunity to spend some time with you and your lovely wife. Something I will remember forever and extremely excited you’ll be attending tomorrow.”
Manziel is one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, but there is some uncertainty about whether he’s the top signal-caller in the draft or if that distinction belongs to Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater or even Derek Carr.
After bypassing the opportunity to throw at February’s NFL Combine, tomorrow’s pro day will go a long way toward determining where he stacks up among the other top quarterbacks in the draft and if the Houston Texans consider taking him first overall.
Perhaps President Bush will put a good word in the ear of Bill O’Brien and the Texans front-office and keep him in his home state of Texas.
