From Joe Perry to Roger Craig, the San Francisco 49ers have had a solid core of running backs to grace their franchise over the years, but it’s Frank Gore who tops the list as their leading all-time rusher and the results aren’t even close.

Gore has amassed over 1,000 more yards than Perry and according to head coach Jim Harbaugh, he should have no problem extending that lead as he believes the former Miami Hurricanes product has three ‘good’ years left.

"“I really think Frank has three more good years,” Harbaugh said Wednesday at the NFL owners meetings. “I truly believe that. But we’re in a game of taking it one year at a time.”"

Gore is currently 31, making him 34 come the end of that third ‘good year’. That’s pretty iffy for any running back given their limited life in the NFL, especially for one who has been given the workload of Gore.

While we’d all like to see Gore continue his success as he ages, it’s going to be tough and posting three more ‘good’ years will be quite a challenge.
