The Tennessee Titans have been looking to move on from running back Chis Johnson but they have yet to make an official decision about his future. While the team has been looking to trade their former 2,000 yard running back, there has been talk of the team just cutting him as well which may end up being the case.
According to Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt, the running back is planning on attending OTAs this offseason.
Chris Johnson still doesn’t know which team he will be playing for this year, but he plans on reporting to the Titans next month for the start of their offseason workout program.
This causes a bit of an issue and it’s a significant one. If Chris Johnson gets injured, the Titans are only on the hook for his contract if it happens on their watch. Should Johnson injure himself on his own time, the team doesn’t have to pay him since it’s classified as a non-football injury.
All of this may lead Johnson to being cut — or locked out of the Titans facility like Steve McNair was before moving on to Baltimore. Something will be happening soon with Johnson and his situation is one to watch.
