Nick Young says Los Angeles Lakers should be 'player haters of the year'

Fresh off losing an alleged $100,000 in a home robbery, Nick Young is back in the headlines – this time for suggesting the Los Angeles Lakers should be the ‘player haters of the year’.

The reference (which you may recall from the Dave Chappelle Show skit ‘Player Haters Ball’)  is simply suggesting the Lakers need to disrupt the NBA’s playoff scenario with their remaining schedule given they’re headed for the lottery.

Marshall said Nick Young told teammates they should try to be the “player haters of the year,” aiming to spoil playoff spots or seeds.

Whatever motivates you, I guess.

The Lakers will have plenty to say about who actually makes the postseason in the Western Conference though as they have a schedule game against the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves – all teams fighting for one of the West’s final playoff spots. In addition, the Lakers have multiple games against some of the West’s top seeds as well.

Hopefully for Young, things go a little better than his premature celebration on Tuesday evening.
