Priscah Jeptoo to comepte in the Bupa Great Manchester Run

Organizers for the Bupa Great Manchester Run announced some exciting news Wednesday, revealing that Kenya’s Priscah Jeptoo will be a member of this year’s field.

The 29-year-old dominated the marathon circuit in 2013, winning both the New York Marathon and the London Marathon.

Peter Riley, elite athlete manager for the race, said the committee is excited about Jeptoo’s decision to compete:

“We’re delighted that Priscah is coming.

“It’s fair to say that she was queen of the roads in 2013. You don’t win the London Marathon, the New York Marathon and the Bupa Great North Run without being something special.

“She was brilliant in the Great North Run. It’ll be interesting to see how she runs over 10km in Manchester.  It should be an excellent race.”

The 2014 Bupa Great Manchester Run will be held on May 18, a little over one month after Jeptoo defends her London Marathon title.
