Updated 2014 NIT schedule: Semifinal tip times set for April 1

On Wednesday night, the semifinals picture for the 2014 NIT became crystal clear. With the Florida State Seminoles’ win over Louisiana Tech and the SMU Mustangs’ win over the Cal Golden Bears, the schedule for April 1 inside Madison Square Garden is now set.

7:00 PM (3) Clemson vs (1) Southern Methodist

9:30 PM (1) Florida State vs (1) Minnesota

These are two very intriguing match ups between four teams that could have very easily found themselves somewhere in the big dance when all was done in the regular season. But nonetheless, fighting for the right to call yourselves NIT champions is something to be proud of.

This will actually be the second meeting this season between Florida State and Minnesota. These two played a close one against one another back in early December, with Minnesota walking away with the 10-point win.

On the other hand, this will be the first meeting between SMU and Clemson.

Who do you think will make it to the championship game? Let us know in the comments below.
