The Sacramento Kings nearly stormed back to beat the New York Knicks on Wednesday night thanks to the strong play of big man DeMarcus Cousins, but it wasn’t meant to be as Carmelo Anthony proved his worth thanks to clutch shots in the final minutes.
After the game, Anthony could be seen exchanging pleasantries with Cousins, who he deemed his ‘project’ in his postgame media session.
“I love him, I love him,” Anthony said of Cousins. “I’m trying to get him to calm down a little bit but I love him, his game, what he can do out there on the basketball court. He stuffs the stat sheet, points, rebounds. He can pass the ball, got a good feel for the game. He just does a lot out there but I’m just trying to get him to calm down out there a little bit. I’m working on that, that’s my project.”
With Cousins signed long term in Sacramento and Anthony unlikely to sign with the Kings (assuming he opts out of his contract), the two won’t be teaming up anytime soon, so Anthony’s adoration of Cousins seems to be more of a fan nature.
