Detroit Tigers, Miguel Cabrera agree to 10-year, near $300 million deal

Being probably the best pure hitter in the game of baseball, as well as an MVP winner, eventually has the financial perks to go along with it, as Miguel Cabrera found out on Thursday as he and the Detroit Tigers have agree on a new, 10-year deal worth that will be worth in the area of $300 million.

The deal that Cabrera recently had with the team ran through 2015, and this new one will all but guarantee that he will spend the rest of his career with one of the current best teams in the American League.

This agreement was first reported a few days ago, and it was pending a physical at the time, which Cabrera obviously passed. Now all that’s left to see is whether or not he can keep up his current pace of being the best hitter in the game today.
