From Puff Daddy to Diddy, back to Puff Daddy?
That’s the way it sounds after the man formally known as Diddy changed his name once again, going back to the moniker that he used during the height of his career,
Debuting a snippet of a new music video featuring Rick Ross and French Montana, text reading ‘Puff Daddy’ appeared on the screen – just happening to coicide with the release of Puff’s new album, his first in four years.
Per the New York Daily News:
Puff Daddy is back!
Musician and media mogul Sean Combs, who has gone by Sean “Puffy” Combs, P.Diddy and just plain Diddy, announced that he is returning to his old stage name Puff Daddy on Tuesday.
The hip-hop mogul changed his name back in 2001 after using Puffy/Puff Daddy during the early portions of his career – a nickname derived by the late Notorious B.I.G.
For what it’s worth, Diddy says he never changed his name, citing that he’s always been Puff Daddy, despite him officially announcing the name change in 2001.
