I imagine the pressure of being on Jeopardy can stir up some nerves. I’m assuming that is what caused this man to offer an odd, funny and very wrong answer.

The answer was simple: “100+ assists in an NHL season has been accomplished only 13 times, 11 times by this player.” Even the most unknowledgeable hockey fan could at least blurt out “who is Wayne Gretzky” as a desperate attempt to get the question correct.

Not this guy though, he buzzes in and quickly offers up “who is Magic Johnson?” Not a bad guess since he is fifth on the all-time assists list, but there is only one problem. He played in the NBA.

A female contestant buzzs in and correctly answers the question and Alex Trebek says “we’re talking about hockey, not the NBA.”

Thanks for rubbing it in Trebek.
