FanSided editor Josh Hill posted earlier that the Tennessee Titans and free agent defensive end Shaun Phillips were scheduled to meet today.

Now according to Mike Garafolo on Twitter, the Titans and 32 year old veteran defensive end Shaun Phillips were able to agree on a two year deal worth $6 million.

Exactly $2.5 million out of the $6 that was agree’d upon is guaranteed money. Phillips turns 32 years old in May, but this deal could work out in favor of Tennessee. Phillips wasn’t the most elite pass rusher in the league last year, but he still managed to record 10 sacks in his only year with the Denver Broncos.

The longtime San Diego Charger has a career 508 combined tackles, 79.5 sacks, seven interceptions, two touchdowns and 22 forced fumbles in 10 years.

Phillips could improve Tennessee’s pass rush almost immediately.
