NCAA Tournament 2014: Florida vs. Dayton preview and predictions

The Elite Eight tips off on Saturday with a pair of great games that should setup a great weekend of basketball. One o the more intriguing games of the weekend involves the Florida Gators and Dayton Flyers — one of whom was expected to be here and the other very much not.

Dayton’s dream run through the tournament has claimed victims in Ohio State, Syracuse and Stanford and has busted brackets everywhere. Given that trend, we should expect some interesting things to go down in the Elite Eight but yet again the Flyers are being counted down and out and yet again they could surprise everyone.

Obviously, their upsets so far would pale in comparison to an upset of the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament and the Flyer have proven anything is possible.

It will all come down to how well the Florida defense can hold down the Flyers and if their offense can stay a step ahead. It all sounds elementary, but things have been far easier said than done against Dayton so far.

Prediction: Florida over Dayton 74-73
