Once DeSean Jackson was abruptly released by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday amid allegations of gang affiliations and the fact that they couldn’t find a willing trade partner, one of the obvious possible destinations for him was in Kansas City with the Chiefs and his former head coach with the Eagles, Andy Reid.

Well, according to Ian Rapoport, while the team and Reid did look into the possibility, they have decided not to pursue Jackson any further.

Reid drafted Jackson out of Cal in 2008, and the two seemed to get along a lot better with one another than it’s rumored that Jackson and Chip Kelly do.

At this point, while nothing in the NFL is ever set in stone, it appears that this race may come down to the Redskins and Raiders, with the New York Jets and a reunion with Michael Vick being the wild card.
