This past Thursday, the scene at Johnny Manziel’s Pro Day was like nothing anyone had ever seen before. But what a lot of people forgot was that there was another Texas A&M product on the field that day, wide receiver Mike Evans, who was showing his skills off to the scouts as well.

While Manziel did turn a lot of heads, one NFC scout more or less pointed out to NJ.com that more people should have their eyes on the 6-5 Evans, because in his opinion, he’s the one who made Manziel what he is today.

"“In my opinion, (Evans) made Johnny Manziel, not the other way around,” the unnamed scout told NJ.com”A lot of times, Manziel just ran around and threw it up for grabs, and (Evans) came down with it.”"

The thing with this statement is, when you watch some of the tape back, he’s not lying. Countless times when Manziel was on the run–which is what people tend to focus more on–he threw up prayers that were answered by Evans most of the time.

Both are expected to go within the top-10 picks in this upcoming May’s draft, but scouts really do need to start asking themselves which one should go before the other.
