Lizette Salas and Cristie Kerr are tied for the lead at 10-under par at the Kia Classic in Carlsbad, California. Kerr is looking for her 17th career victory while Salas is looking for her first win after a breakout 2013 season that included seven top-ten finishes.
The final group tees off at 1:35 pm PST. Both players have momentum heading into the final round with Salas being the only player to break 70 in each of the first three rounds (69-68-69), and Cristie Kerr rolling in a 60-foot putt for par on 18 in the third round after hitting her second shot into the water.
There are four players tied for third place at eight-under par. Second round leader Dori Carter shot a course record 64 on Friday, but struggled with a 74 in the third round. Anna Nordqvist has fought her way into contention with rounds of 68 and 67 after opening with a one-over 73. Shanshan Feng and Ayako Uehara round out the group at eight-under. Feng won the 2012 LPGA Championship, and Uehara is in her second year on the LPGA.
Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, Eun-Hee Ji, and Chella Choi are tied for seventh place at seven-under par. Lewis and Thompson have the firepower to challenge the leaders, and Ji and Choi are very consistent players on the LPGA with 18 and 17 career top- tens, respectively.
Also in the mix are Karrie Webb at six-under (T11), and Paula Creamer and Se Ri Pak at five-under (T16).
World No. 1 Inbee Park is at four-under (T20).
