After being unsuccessful in locating another major league job, Mitchell Boggs has rejoined the White Sox on a minor league deal.
Scott Merkin of MLB.com reported the re-signing, as Boggs will report to Triple-A to start the season. He will provide bullpen depth should one of Chicago’s relievers go down with an injury.
Boggs appeared in 7 games with the White Sox in Spring Training, amassing a huge 12.79 ERA. Boggs had had definite problems in 2013 after failing as the closer for the St. Louis Cardinals. He had been sent down to work on his mechanics before he was eventually released and then signed with the Colorado Rockies.
