MLB Opening Night 2014: Andrew Cashner on being named starter: 'I'm truly blessed'

Considered a top tier talent ever since his arrival in the big leagues, hard-throwing right-handed pitcher Andrew Cashner has had an unsteady career at times. Having kicked back and forth between the bullpen in the rotation, Cashner appears to have finally settled into the starting rotation.

Having been named the starter for the San Diego Padres’ opening night game against the hype machine that is the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cashner discussed what it’s been like and the process that brought him to this point. He said that he is “truly blessed” to have the opportunity and that he will do the best he can to just treat it like another game.
