NFL Rumors: Washington Redskins plan on making serious bid to sign DeSean Jackson

The Washington Redskins have been granted the first visit with free agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson and they’re intending on making sure it’s the only one he has. While the Oakland Raiders are hot on Jackson’s tail, the Redskins are planning on making Jackson an offer they think he won’t be able to refuse.

Per CSNWashington:

According to multiple reports, the Redskins intend to make a serious bid to lock up Jackson’s services tomorrow, and Jackson is excited about the prospect of joining the Redskins.

Washington really doesn’t want to let Jackson leave town without a contract and that’s going to be evident in the likely overspending that Daniel Snyder does. This is a guy who gave Albert Haynesworth a $100 million contract, so it’s hard to see him letting Jackson slip out of his grip.

It’s not a guarantee that the Redskins will land Jackson, but they’ve earned first crack at him and it’s clear they intend to be the only team with such a luxury this offseason.
