March Madness: Julius Randle's mother had to leave Kentucky game at halftime for work

For the first half, Julius Randle’s mother watched her son and Kentucky battle Michigan on Sunday afternoon. But Randle’s mother couldn’t stay for the entire game? Why? Because she had to work.

Not wanting to get in trouble – or even worse – lose her job, Carolyn Kyles left the Kentucky-Michigan game soon as both teams headed into their respective locker rooms at halftime.

Of course, she ended up missing Randle’s solid play down the stretch and Kentucky’s amazing victory over the Wolverines.

Julius Randle’s mom had to leave at halftime so she could return to Texas and go to work tomorrow. Randle: “I’m coming home to my mom.”

Those sitting near Randle’s mother reported she was crying at the thought of having to leave her son in such an important moment, but couldn’t miss her Texas-bound flight or she’d be forced to miss work on Monday morning.

That’s certainly some dedication on Momma Randle’s part, but Julius is a few months removed from being an NBA player and having a lucrative bank account that goes alongside such – she could have stayed.

And really – what type of job wouldn’t allow you to miss a day of work for that?
