It was a disappointing season for both the Washington Nationals and New York Mets in 2013, a fact both teams hope to change as they begin their 2014 campaigns.

The Mets had hoped to be players in free agency, but prices were simply too high so the team will return a similar roster with an extra year of experience under their belt.

Meanwhile, the Washington Nationals are simply hoping to remain healthy – something they struggled to do during the 2013 season. They’re also looking for bounce back years from sluggers like Adam LaRoche, who will help bolster the middle of their lineup attack.

Washington Nationals:

1. Denard Span (CF)
2. Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
3. Jayson Werth (RF)
4. Wilson Ramos (C)
5. Bryce Harper (LF)
6. Ian Desmond (SS)
7. Adam LaRoche (1B)
