It was a rough 2013 season for the Milwaukee Brewers who had to deal with a hefty amount of injuries and star outfielder Ryan Bruan admitting to using performance enhancing drugs.
The admission ended with Bruan missing the vast majority of the season and the Brewers falling apart in the National League Central race, but with Braun back and slugging, there is renewed hope for the 2014 season.
That hope began Monday afternoon as the Brewers hosted the Atlanta Braves.
As Ryan Braun was announced in the starting lineups, he was giving a roaring ovation – but it was nothing compared to when the embattled slugger came to the plate for the first time, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.
While the 40,000 plus at Miller Park were thrilled to see Braun back in action, the reaction on social media wasn’t nearly as pleasant as many MLB fans couldn’t help but be disappointed/shake their head at the in-stadium fan reaction to Braun.
Hopefully Braun enjoyed the warm welcome because he’ll be on the wrong end of fans when he leaves Miller Park’s comfy confines.
