When Jacoby Ford hit the open market a few weeks ago, the New York Jets were one of the first teams to show reported interest.
But the team seemed to move on and Ford was left hanging without a team.
Interest in the speedy Ford wasn’t overwhelming, but the Carolina Panthers recently began to show interest in the playmaking kick return – but again – no deal was discussed (at least not publicly). But the interest from the Panthers may have sparked the Jets to make a move as Ford reportedly visited the Jets today.
Despite signing Eric Decker, the Jets could certainly use some help at wide receiver though Ford isn’t exactly ideal for that role. Regardless, he is somebody that can occasionally make plays down field with his speed.
He’s best served as a punt or kick returner however and would give the Jets special teams a boost if brought in for that role.
