The Arizona Diamondbacks opened their season (at least, the United States version) against the San Francisco Giants on Monday night in disappointing fashion.

Poor defense from the Giants staked the Diamondbacks to an early lead, but the Arizona bullpen was unable to keep San Francisco off the scoreboard, resulting in a one-run loss for the D’Backs.

Fans were sent home with frowns but happy stomachs as the D’Backs debuted their much talked about ‘D-bat Dog’, an 18-inch corn dog stuffed with bacon, cheddar and jalapenos.

The $25 dollar dog comes with a side of diabetes fries and seemed to get pretty favorable reviews from those who got their mitts on one.

As for the D-bat Dog itself, it was not a bad meal, especially if it’s your only one for the week. If you are planning on being a normal human being and sharing it, the thought here is you’ll enjoy the product about as much as a corn dog can be enjoyed. I’d eat it again.

Unfortunately, despite a heavy demand, few actually were able to try the mega corn dog  as television reports suggested that the line wait for a ‘D-bat Dog’ was around an hour.

Hopefully the Diamondbacks will have more stock moving forward.
