Derek Jeter receives ovation from Houston fans (Video)

And with that, another farewell tour was underway.

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter announced that he will retire at the end of the 2014 season. As such, we know that we are in for another season full of ovations, ceremonies, and going away gifts. That’s not to say that’s a bad thing, as the recipients of this recognition have been more than deserving: Chipper Jones, Mariano Rivera, and now Jeter.

Jeter and the Yankees started their 2014 campaign Tuesday night against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Here is the first of many rousing ovations that ‘the Captain’ will receive over the course of the next six months. Well…at least some people were excited about it.
