The Los Angeles Dodgers lineup will likely get a bit more potent this week as All-Star outfielder Matt Kemp is likely to return.
Kemp, who dealt with nagging shoulder and ankle injuries during the past season is still recovering from offseason surgery and missed the Dodgers opening series in Australia along with their United States opener against the San Diego Padres, but is feeling healthy.
The backdated trip to the disabled list makes Kemp eligible to return on April 4th and that is still within reason as Kemp has not suffered any setbacks.
Kemp still possible to play Friday, Don Mattingly said.
The Dodgers could opt to send Kemp out for a very quick minor league rehab stint, just to get his timing and mechanics down but he should be relatively fresh given his particpation in Spring Training activities and minor league game action during the Spring.
Barring an oddity, expect to see Kemp back out there very soon – possibly as early as Friday night.
