There appears to be trouble in paradise — or at least in Indianapolis where the Indiana Pacers are suffering what is being described as a leadership void at the moment. With Danny Granger gone via the trade deadline, the chemistry of the Pacers is still a little off and that’s starting to show with frustrations bubbling over in public ways.
During last night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs, guards Lance Stephenson and George Hill got into a ‘verbal confrontation’ on the Pacers bench.
The Pacers are experiencing a leadership void at the moment and the only thing they’re racking up faster than turnovers and bad shots is finger pointing. During a timeout in the second half, George Hill got into a verbal confrontation with Lance Stephenson on the bench and they had to be separated by teammates.
This is bad news for a Pacers team that is very vulnerable heading into the postseason. They’re the leaders of the Eastern Conference but that only gets you a high seed, it doesn’t win you games in the playoffs. Indiana has to do that organically and verbal confrontations on the bench aren’t going to help achieve success.
