The Sacramento Kings acquired Rudy Gay from the Toronto Raptors earlier this season with hopes he’d be the small forward of the future they’ve long lusted over.

Of course, the Kings will need to find middle ground a contract extension with Gay if that’s to happen.

The former UConn star has a $19 million dollar player option for the 2014-15 season which he’s unsure if he plans to exercise, though does say he can envision a future in Sacramento.

"“I think I can have a future here for sure,” Gay says. “For sure. With the people we have in the front office, with the coaches, I definitely fit in here. It’s just when you get here, you’re set and you’re settled and everything’s blown over, when you have your contract and everything’s set, no matter where you are, it’s just where do we go from there? I’m looking forward to weighing my options.”"

Gay went on to say that money isn’t everything, though, it’s understandably going to factor into his decision.

If Gay is to exercise his player option, it’s believed he and the Kings will work on a contractual extension in hopes of preventing him from hitting the open market.
