The Kansas City Chiefs have been rumored to be in the market for a safety, this after letting Kendrick Lewis walk earlier this season.

The market isn’t exactly saturated with high quality players, though Danieal Manning recently became available after he was released by the Houston Texans and he plans to visit with the Chiefs on Thursday.

"Free Agent SS @ManningUp38: I’m heading to Cincinnati today and I will be meeting with Kansas City Thursday. #Bengals#Chiefs"

Manning’s trip to Cincinnati was already well documented, but his inclusion of the Chiefs is new news and appears straight from his mouth.

The safety will turn 31 before the start of the 2014 season, though, is still very serviceable and would be a solid addition for the Chiefs assuming he comes at a fair price.

There have also been whispers that Manning, a Texas native, would prefer to stay in the Lone Star state and sign with the Dallas Cowboys (his childhood team), though we’ve yet to see any documented sources, only a suggestion from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
