Early Tuesday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the San Francisco 49ere were a ‘team to watch‘ in regards to the DeSean Jackson sweepstakes.
That seems to jive with a recent report suggesting that Jackson will be meeting with the 49ers brass in the near future – assuming that he doesn’t sign with the Washington Redskins.
Sources close to DeSean Jackson: if he does not sign with Washington, he will meet with the San Francisco 49ers tomorrow.
Jackson had been meeting the Redskins all afternoon but left without a contract. That said, it was reported his agent was working on a deal with the Redskins so the situation appears to be rather fluid.
Regardless, if the Redskins and Jackson’s camp are unable to agree on a deal before tomorrow, it sounds as if Jackson will be making a trip to the Bay Area where he’ll meet with the 49ers on Wednesday.
San Francisco has been in the market for a wide receiver all offseason and have reportedly had their eyes on Jackson since he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles.
