The Pittsburgh Penguins are taking on the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night and it was a milestone performance for star center Sidney Crosby. In the first period of the game at CONSOL Energy Center, Crosby recorded an assist on a Chris Kunitz goal, which was Crosby’s 100th point of the season.
It is the fifth time in Crosby’s NHL career that he has eclipsed the 100-point mark.
You can check out a video of the assist below:
Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf is the only other player in the NHL to have more than 80 points this season, and his team has just six games remaining on their schedule. With such little time on the ice left for Getzlaf during the regular season, Crosby is poised to be the only 100 point scorer in the NHL this year.
