This past weekend the World Series of Fighting put on their ninth event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card featured two title fights and the debuts of former UFC competitors, Rousimar Palhares and Yushin Okami.

In the main event, Rousimar Palhares became the WSOF Welterweight champion by defeating Steve Carl by inverted heel hook in the first round. In the co-main event, Marlon Moraes became the inaugural WSOF Bantamweight champion by dominating Josh Rettinghouse en route to a decision.

According to Nielsen sources (Courtesy of MMAReport) the preliminary overnight ratings for the World Series of Fighting 9 event reached 242,000 total viewers. World Series of Fighting 8 had 212,000 views this past January, so the organization is going in the right direction.

World Series of Fighting 10 is slated for June 10th headlined by the Featherweight title fight between reigning champion Georgi Karakhanyan and Rick Glenn. In the co-main event, former UFC competitors, David Branch and Jesse Taylor will fight for the inaugural WSOF Middleweight title.
