In what many presumes is a match-up of the top teams in the American League Central, the Detroit Tigers have started their 2014 campaign off with a bang with two consecutive walk-off victories over the Kansas City Royals.
Wednesday’s game went to extra innings, and it was the newly acquired Ian Kinsler who came up with a chance to put the game away for Detroit. With a long and loud single in the bottom of the 10th, Kinsler did not disappoint and the Tigers got to dog-pile for the second time this week.
As for the Royals, if they are going to live up to the lofty expectations they have set for themselves this season, their stalwart bullpen will have to be a big part of that success. As such, they will need that group to shower off this rough start to the season.
