Jonathan Toews Out For Rest of Regular Season

Already without scoring sensation Patrick Kane for the rest of the regular season, the Chicago Blackhawks have announced that captain Jonathan Toews will also sit out the final two weeks of the year after suffering an injury on Sunday.

Toews suffered what appeared to be an arm injury after receiving a big check from Pittsburgh Penguin Brooks Orpik in Chicago’s 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh last weekend. Orpik didn’t face any discipline for the seemingly clean check.

Toews, as well as Kane, as expected back when the Blackhawks open up the first round of Stanley Cup Playoffs play in two weeks. And with Chicago likely playing Colorado in the first round, the team is going to need its two best players back in full force.
