The Minnesota Wild are in the middle of a three-team battle for the two wild card positions in the Western Conference, but they are battling for the playoff spot pretty banged up. Because of injuries, the Wild have called up a pair of players, goaltender John Curry and forward Jake Dowell, from AHL Iowa to play against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
The Wild head into Thursday’s game with Chicago in the first wild card spot after winning back-to-back games against Phoenix and Los Angeles. They sit four points ahead of both Dallas and Phoenix.
