Nolan Ryan forgets how to throw baseball during first pitch (Video)

For 27 years (that doesn’t even seem humanly possible), Nolan Ryan struck fear in batters as he mowed their chin straps with high heat.

And for one night, Nolan Ryan did it again – though – accidentally with an invisible batter in the box.

Ryan was on hand for the Houston Astros home opener against the New York Yankees and tossed out the first pitch. Unfortunately, either Ryan lost his grip on the ball or he was looking for Robin Ventura as he winged the ball completely off course. The ball, intended for fellow Astros legend, Craig Biggio, went far beyond the reach of the former infielder and made its way to the backstop as the crowd couldn’t help but get a chuckle.

Thankfully it seemed as if all had a good laugh over it and Ryan is hoping the video of the botched throw enters the bowls of the internet.

I have a feeling that won’t be the case though.

If only Bob Uecker was around to give us the perfect ‘jusssssssst a bit outside’.
