2014 NFL Draft Rumors: Tom Savage's stock rising

Most of the talk around the quarterbacks in the 2014 NFL Draft has centered around the apparent fall of Teddy Bridgewater of the Louisville Cardinals, the potential that Blake Bortles of the Central Florida Knits could be the first overall pick and the uncertainly surrounding Johny Manziel of the Texas A&M Aggies.

Others, like Eastern Illinois Panthers’ signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr of the Fresno State Bulldogs, have had their names associated with several teams and could be selected higher than many originally thought.

One quarterback who has had little, if any, hype is Tom Savage of the Pittsburgh Panthers.

According to Gil Brandt of, Savage’s stock is on the rise.

Savage started his career with the Rutgers Scarlet Knight, but soon, but transferred to the Arizona Wildcats. He returned to his home state of Pennsylvania to play for Pittsburgh in 2013.

He completed 238 of 389 passes for 2,958 yards with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions last season.
