Montreal Canadiens defenseman Douglas Murray has been suspended three games for his hit on Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mike Kotska that left they young defender motionless on the ice for a few minutes.
“Murray rises up and delivers a forceful blow to Kostka’s head, making it the main point of contact and causing a serious injury,” the video states.

Murray will miss Montreal’s games against Ottawa, Detroit and Chicago. He will also forfeit $23,076.93 in salary to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
There is no word as to how long Kotska will be out of action. He was diagnosed with a concussion on Wednesday after undergoing tests by Tampa Bay doctors.
