There’s no doubt that DeSean Jackson had his choice of suitors when it came to picking a team to sign with.
In the end, the wide receiver struck a deal with the Washington Redskins and it’s possible Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant played a part in it.
Jackson, doing the typical media rounds, was a guest on ESPN 980 and talked about why he joined the Redskins. That discussion included recruitment from rapper Wale and Kevin Durant, who Jackson says called him to sell on him on the Redskins.
Another influence was my boy Durant. Kevin Durant been calling me, he been calling and saying man you know how I’d go crazy for you to be in D.C. I mean, what better place is there for me to be? I’m happy to be here. I’m glad, man, honestly I can say that.”
Durant, a hardcore Redskins fan was seen lobbying on Twitter for Jackson to choose Washington earlier this week.
I’m sure Durant’s courting wasn’t the deciding factor for Jackson, but you have to think it helped a little.
