It was late last week when the very first trailer for the upcoming film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released upon the world. Now, it turns out that there is more big news when it comes to our favorite heroes in a half shell. According to Deadline, two big name stars have been added to the cast of the highly-anticipated film.
Under normal circumstances if I were to start out a sentence with “A Monk and a Jackass walk into a sewer and…” you would think I was crazy or just really bad at telling jokes. Fortunately, in this circumstance, this is perfectly normal. Monk actor Tony Shalhoub and Jackass star Johnny Knoxville have officially been cast voices in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.
Shalhoub will be voicing the turtles’ half-sized sensei Master Splinter, and Knoxville will be voicing the unofficial leader of the Ninja Turtles, Leonardo.
Knoxville and Shahoub will be joining an ever growing cast packed with lots of talent.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Transformers actress Megan Fox as April O’Neil. The film also stars William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, and many more.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman, who has directed such films as Wrath of the Titans and Battle Los Angeles. Michael Bay, who all of us know from the Transformers series is serving as producer on the project.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is scheduled to be released in 3D and Conventional Theaters on August 8, 2014.
