The Miami Heat hold a percentage point lead over the Indiana Pacers for the first seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference and LeBron James has no desire to let that lead slip away.
The reigning MVP says he will not skip any of the Miami Heat’s remaining regular season games to rest and will finish out the string strong.
I don’t plan on sitting out any of these (eight) games unless something happens. I’m going to be in the lineup.
It’s never been part of my DNA. If I feel I can get something, I’ve got to be out there for my teammates. It’s my obligation to be out there for them. I’m dealing with a few things but for me to sit out, I have to be dealing with a lot more.
While it may not be a tough call for James, I’m sure the Heat feel differently. Freak of nature that he is, James needs a rest. The guy plays heavy minutes and is constantly playing deep into the playoffs. Of course, you don’t want to lose home court advantage throughout the playoffs so sitting James becomes a bit of a predicament, but you also want him completely healthy and fresh come the postseason.
Not exactly the easiest decision to make.
