There are multiple NFL teams still in need of a wide receiver, though it appears most are satisfied to look for such a player in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft.
That’s why some available free agents, like Sidney Rice, still remain without a team.
Still sitting in the wire, Rice, who is coming off an ACL tear has drawn some interest from a few teams though nothing has been serious. Because of that (among other factors), it’s still within the realm of possibility that Rice could end up back with the Seattle Seahawks.
Signing too many unrestricted free agents would take away those gifts. I think they will take a tackle in the first two rounds of the draft. If a big receiver pops free, they could make a move on him. It’s not out of the question for them to re-sign Sidney Rice.
The oft-injured Rice would likely come relatively cheap, though, he also comes with near certainty of some missed games given his injury history. Still, the Seahawks could do much worse in free agency than bringing back Rice on a team friendly deal.
