While the New York Jets landed wide receiver Jacoby Ford on Wednesday afternoon, there was another team that almost managed to scoop him up first. According to the New York Post and Jets beat writer Bart Hubbuch, the Cleveland Browns nearly snuck in and stole Ford away before the Jets could finalize things with him.
Jacoby Ford says he chose the Jets over the Browns.

It’s worth noting that there was no mention of the Oakland Raiders, who are a team no one seems to be talking about when it comes to an utter lack of receiving targets. Still, with the Raiders out of the question, the Browns almost secured another big free agent signing before the Jets pounced on Ford.
Now New York has two nice receiving threats for Michael Vick or Geno Smith in 2014 and adding a third in the draft means that the Jets offense will likely be markedly improved this upcoming season than it was in 2013.
