Nothing beats fun at the old ballpark, right? That’s the old saying at least and in many ways it rings true.

The ambiance of the stadium, the sights and sounds that emanates throughout the park and the smells of ballpark food wafting through the air is intoxicating and the chance to catch a home run or foul ball is always something to look forward to.

One Oakland Athletics fan took that challenge a little too serious in the A’s game yesterday vs. the Cleveland Indians when he went full-extension for a foul ball only to take a face plant onto the concrete below.

Now, I’ve never caught a foul ball at any of the games I’ve been to in my history as a fan, but I don’t think I’d be willing to eat concrete to get one.

Nevertheless, the fan got his souvenir and a win as the A’s knocked off the Indians in Game 1 of their doubleheader with a 6-1 verdict.
