Real Madrid got a big 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarterfinals, but superstar Cristiano Ronaldo left the game early with an injury. There is little time for Ronaldo to rest and he’ll likely be back in action this weekend as Real Madrid cling to their La Liga title hopes.
That led Sergio Ramos to call out the fans, who had whistled at Ronaldo in last weekend’s 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
“The fans do not appreciate that every three days there is a match and that takes a toll on us,” Ramos told AS. “[Ronaldo] is a bull, he withstands it all. It is difficult to hold him back, with what we have.”
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said that Ronaldo’s injury wasn’t too serious.
“Ronaldo had a knee problem but I took him off to avoid any risks,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying by UEFA’s official website. “He is not injured, just a minor annoyance.”
