Shot clock error forces Paul George to take near half court shot, sinks it (Video)

There was an interesting situation last night when the Indiana Pacers were hosting the Detroit Pistons. In the final minutes of the fourth quarter, a Pacers shot hit the rim but the shot clock didn’t reset. The ball went out to Paul George who was standing just outside the mid-court logo, and the shot clock was down to a couple of seconds so George put a shot up in the air.

The ball went in, no bank or anything… nothing but net.

“That was the wildest (shot I’ve taken),” George said on TV after the game, via USA Today. “I saw there was 2.3 seconds on the shot clock (as I received the pass) and I saw they reset it as I was shooting.”
