The Tennessee Titans are still trying to figure out what to do with running back Chris Johnson and his $8 million salary. No one seems interested in trading for Johnson so a release is likely imminent, and a reason for moving on from Johnson is emerging.

From Dan Pompei of Bleacher Report:

"New coach Ken Whisenhunt likes to spread around playing time and touches between multiple running backs. His plan is to have a running back by committee. Johnson is the type of player who demands the football and never would be happy as a role player. A trade or release, subsequently, is coming."

Johnson’s agent, Joel Segal, confirmed that he was done with the Titans in an appearance Wednesday night on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt. The Titans’ offseason program starts on Monday so that seems like a safe bet for a deadline on the Titans and Johnson stand off.
